[HaystackCRM] Keep your contacts even more organized

Our second recently released feature was designed to help our users with organization. We are keenly aware that a CRM is only as good as the data in it. If the data is a mess, then the CRM is going to be messy to use. And more likely than not, a messy CRM is an unused CRM.

We want you to have a clean, usable CRM!

So, that’s why we created statuses that can be used to label Companies or Contacts. There are three status types:

— Prospect

— Customer

— Dormant

These statuses are exactly as they sound — a prospect is a person or organization you think you might do business with. A customer is someone you are currently doing business with. Lastly, dormant is a person or organization that was a lead or customer and fizzled out for some reason. It may be because the project is complete or because their needs and goals changed. Either way, it’s helpful to have that information handy, both for historical reference, and for future use.

Our hope is that these statuses make it easier to store lots of info within HaystackCRM without the resulting digital clutter. For more on reducing digital clutter, check out this helpful article.

[HaystackCRM] Features come from the needs of our users

Here at HaystackCRM, we implement features based on our users’ suggestions, rather than what we think our users *might* need. We are continually asking for product feedback. Our goal is to make sure that the product is meeting the needs of all our users.

We are excited to introduce three new features developed directly as the result of user feedback. Today, we’ll share more about the first feature. Stay tuned for more info about the other two features in the coming weeks!

Top ten recent adds

Some of our users work for companies that use HaystackCRM as their overall CRM. As a result, their accounts may be updated with new contacts/companies directly from their employer’s ERP. It’s hard to take action on a new addition if you didn’t know they were added 🙂

Our friends over at a company that produces systems and devices for industrial cleaning products found that to be the case. Their field sales reps needed a way to know about potential sales leads being imported via their company’s ERP. Those leads might be in their respective geographic territories. They needed that info to be effective salespeople.

As a result, the HaystackCRM dashboard now shows the most recent global additions. This way all users have visibility into those additions. This greater visibility results in a more efficient workflow, hopefully leading to greater sales and success for our customers!

[Meet the Team] Jennifer Davis & Heath Webster

Rounding out our leadership team is Jennifer Davis (Sales & Marketing) and Heath Webster (Software Development).

A bit about Jennifer

Jennifer “officially”  joined her husband, Keir, at Xtern Software about five years ago. She had been quite involved previously. She was the person Keir would bounce ideas off of, vent frustrations to, etc. Not to mention, she was well-versed in how the company ran. As a result, she made the transition from staying at home with their daughter to working for the business. Around this time, Keir realized the CRM Xtern had developed to manage customer relationships could be spun off as its own product. Jennifer found this idea exciting and was ready to jump in and add new energy to marketing HaystackCRM.

Jennifer is an active volunteer for Mobile Meals. She also enjoys gardening and buying plants & produce from the Greensboro Farmers Market

Keir and Jennifer work hard to keep work and home life separate. They don’t talk after dinner about work related things, and they even commute to the office separately!

A bit about Heath

Heath has been a member of the Xtern team for nearly 15 years. He was instrumental in developing HaystackCRM. He grew up in North Carolina and  is a graduate of UNC Greensboro. In addition, he has also created Carlabby, a mobile application where you can create and share memories of your family.

Outside of work, Heath is kept busy by his two elementary school-aged daughters, and his puppy, Louie!

Heath enjoys spending time with his wife, and watching his daughters play soccer at Bryan Park & Proehlific Park, and take gymnastics classes at Ultimate Kids Gym.
